After receiving my amateur extra license for ham radio, I helped to grow the Oklahoma State University W5YJ club, and ran for and was elected for the office of presidency of the club.

As a volunteer examiner for W5YI and ARRL, I spend around 10-20 hours a week volunteering to proctor exams so others interested in HAM radio can test for and receive their amateur licenses from their own homes and for reduced cost, removing cost as a barrier from applications.

I built a 35 foot tower with an 8 foot UHF/VHF antenna at the head of the mast. I did extensive testing and hand tuning to acheive an swr of nearly 1:1. Currently the antenna is operated on a 10watt radio, and can reach stations 150 miles away.
